Privacy Policy

OfferGo (“we”, “us”) helps you apply to jobs faster by storing your resume data and auto-filling job application forms via our Chrome extension. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

1. Data we collect

• Account info: email address (provided via Clerk authentication)
• Resume content: PDF/Word/image files you upload, plus the structured profile (name, contact info, work history, education, skills) extracted from them by Anthropic Claude AI
• Application defaults: optional information you choose to save (phone, address, demographic/EEO answers, work-authorization status, password used for ATS portal accounts)
• API key: a token we generate so the Chrome extension can read your data on your behalf
• Usage events: timestamps of resume uploads, job views, applications submitted (used only to populate your dashboard)

2. Data the Chrome extension reads

• Form structure of the current job application page — only when you click the OfferGo toolbar button or the floating widget. We do not read content from any other websites.
• Current tab URL — to determine which ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, etc.) the page belongs to.
• Locally cached resume data — stored via chrome.storage.local on your device for fast auto-fill. Not transmitted to any third party.

3. How we use your data

• To parse your resume into a structured profile (Anthropic Claude API).
• To rank job recommendations by semantic similarity to your background (OpenAI embeddings API).
• To auto-fill job application forms when you invoke the extension on a recognized ATS page.
• To process subscription payments via Stripe (if you upgrade to Pro).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

• Anthropic (resume parsing) — privacy policy
• OpenAI (embeddings) — privacy policy
• Clerk (auth) — privacy policy
• Stripe (payments) — privacy policy
• Vercel (web hosting) and Fly.io (API hosting)

5. Where data is stored

Your account, resume files, and parsed profile are stored on a managed PostgreSQL database (Neon, US East region) using TLS for transit encryption. Sensitive fields such as ATS-portal passwords are additionally encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

6. Your rights

You can:

• Download or delete any uploaded resume from the dashboard at any time
• Delete your entire account by emailing ruxinxue42@gmail.com; we will purge your data within 30 days
• Revoke any OfferGo API key from the dashboard
• Request a copy of your stored data

EEA / UK users have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). California users have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these.

7. Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. After account deletion, all personal data is removed from our database within 30 days; encrypted backups are purged within 90 days.

8. Children

OfferGo is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced via email and on this page (revised “Last updated” date).
